Bases are a class of compounds that are bitter to taste.
Substances that contain bases are called basic substances.
Bases are also soapy to touch.
The soap that we use at home contains such substances as well.
Examples of bases are sodium bicarbonate also known as baking soda and magnesium hydroxide.
