Punctuate.

Punctuation or punctuation marks, are marks we use to make our sentences better and correct. These marks, help us read the sentence easily, and know what they mean.

Punctuation also includes the case of letters.

What's your case?

There are two cases with our letters. The uppercase and the lowercase.

Uppercase letters are CAPITAL LETTERS and lowercase letters are small letters.

Capitalization usually means to make the first letter of a particular word, capital or to put it in uppercase.

Proper Nouns have their first letter capitalized in every sentence that they appear.

For example: Donald Trump is the new president of the United States of America.

Capitalize what?

As we have already seen, we capitalize the first letter of proper nouns. This is why we capitalized the 'D' of Donald and the 'T' of Trump.

But if the sentence was:

The new president of the United States of America is Donald Trump.

Why would I capitalize the first letter of 'the'?

I would do this because I am beginning the sentence with that word.

We capitalize the first letter of any word that we use to begin a sentence with.

Snow White's heart was the key to having eternal youth and beauty.

So Queen Ravenna ordered her soldiers to kill Snow White and bring her heart.

Here, we capitalize the 'Q' of the word Queen because it is a title referring to a specific person.

If we say:

"The queen wanted Snow White's heart." We will not capitalize here, because we do not know which queen is being referred to. When the title of 'Queen' comes before a name (proper noun), we will capitalize the first letter.
